History and Analysis
The three-story tenement at 80 Jefferson Street was built to house five families and one store in 1874. Designed by F.J. Berlenbach for owner John Rieber, the building is 25 feet wide by 50 feet deep and 40.5 feet high. A spruce-framed building with outer walls of siding, this structure was built on a stone base, with a bluestone and sand and lime foundation. It was also built with a flat tin roof and wood cornice and shutters.[1]
