729 Bushwick Avenue, pictured on the far left, is a story higher than its neighbors and features terra-cotta details that the others do not possess. These buildings are unique because of their rounded-arched windows and rounded, projecting facades. Although all of the windows have been replaced, these tenements remain intact. Each possesses an original stoop (it is unclear as to whether there is a stoop concealed beneath 729’s shed-like addition), as well as original pressed-metal cornices, sandstone cladding, and wrought-iron fences. The date of these buildings was determined from the Brooklyn Department of Buildings.

This is a view from the northwest corner of Lawton Street, some time in the late 1950s. This photograph was taken after 1957 because of the presence of the 1957 Chrysler present in the bottom left hand corner.
