Hsitory and Analysis
These modest row houses are part of a major speculative development by Cozine & Gascoine. C & G developed entire blocks along Bushwick Avenue, mainly with wood-frame “brick filled” two and half story homes. This particular row along the south-side of Weirfield Street are unique because, although there has been some loss of cornices and lintels, the row is entirely intact with no additions or demolitions. These houses were originally built for the cost of $2700 each.
