History and Analysis
In 1920, the Brooklyn Corset Factory occupied the building, possibly owned/run by John Menahan, for whom the street was later renamed. In 1927, the manufacturing switched to furniture making. There was evidence of lofts in 1932, but in 1946, the building was once again light manufacturing, making sweaters- the occupying company was Fit Knitwear.[1]
