History and Analysis
This row of residential buildings were constructed together by the Architect Frank Ames.[1] Each of the buildings are made of brick and were built to house multiple families. The row is capped on each end by a four story brick tenement (1274 Bushwick at the corner Halsey and 1290 Bushwick at the corner of Eldert), each built to house eight families with a construction cost of $20,000 each. Between these ends, Mr. Ames built seven three story brick tenements to accomodate three families at the construction cost of $5,000 each.[2]
