History and Analysis
1185 DeKalb Avenue is a slightly larger version of its neighbors – 782 and 784 Bushwick Avenue. This three-story tenement has an original entry on DeKalb Avenue and features yellow brick masonry accentuated by quoins and belt courses in white masonry, and buff-colored terra-cotta lintels. This structure also retains an original pressed-metal cornice. The date of this building was determined from the Brooklyn Department of Buildings.
