History and Analysis
1173-1179 Bushwick Avenue is a row of four two and a half stories brownstone rowhouses built in 1880 by Thomas F. Houghton, preceding the development of the other tenements that occupy the rest of this block. All structures retain a high level of architectural integrity with original characteristics intact, including the brownstone cladding, the stoops, and pressed metal cornices.
